We received a beautiful email from our adoption specialist today - we have officially been registered with the Ministry of Justice in Bulgaria. This means we are approved adoptive parents and we're eligible for a referral (meaning a child!).
THIS is such a huge step for us and one I feared would never come in the midst of a pandemic. While I know there are other families ahead of us on the waiting list, knowing that Bulgaria has approved us means that there is a possibility we could get that phone call telling us we have a match at any time. More than likely, we will still have a two year wait, and that's ok. We have learned over the past year and a half to set aside our own timelines and just roll with this.
Thank you for all the prayers, well wishes and financial support throughout this journey. I guess we are far enough along that we should start assembling our Bulgaria puzzle! It would be a good quarantine activity at any rate! We hope you each have a healthy and special holiday season. We are so appreciative of each of you.
